Hampiðjan’s marketing and IT manager Jón Oddur Davíðsson has been appointed sales and marketing director of the company’s fishing gear division.
He is no newcomer to Hampiðjan, and worked in the company’s ropes and netting sales department from 1987 to 1990, and came back in 1999 to manage its technical and IT systems.
‘I made use of the break from Hampiðjan to study marketing at technical college. I was the financial manager for a book-binding company for a while and then worked in sales at Plastprent. I came back to Hampiðjan in 1999 and have 21 years with the company behind me. I have been fortunate to be able to develop professionally here and have been involved in every department at one time or another.’
Jón Oddur Davíðsson said that his role will now be focused on maintaining the best possible links with Hampiðjan’s customers in connection with fishing gear and vessel operations, organising sales activities and establishing new business relationships.
‘Hampiðjan is constantly developing its fishing gear products and has become a leader in this field,’ he said.
