DYNICE WIDE TOW ROPES
The first DynIce Superwide ropes began to be used in 1993 and were the first to replace steel wire ropes on seismic survey vessels. Since then, they have been the chosen option for the most important seismic companies. Their advantage is excellent abrasion resistance and long-lasting braided coating that protect the wide towing rope from abrasion and cuts. Additionally, they have proven to be superior in perpendicular steel wire rope cut tests compared to similar ropes.
The latest patent-pending generation of wide towing ropes combines the most advanced and modern materials currently available in Dyneema®. The integrated bundle section is made with DynIce Ultrabend and the main length with DynIce 75. The outer end is double-coated near the deflector to better tolerate fatigue from cutting and bending that may occur in that area. However, the wide towing rope has no seams as the material and construction gradually change in the rope, eliminating visible joints.
