Hampiðjan will take part in IceFish 2026, the Icelandic Fisheries and Aquaculture Exhibition, held at Fífan in Kópavogur from 22–24 September. Hampiðjan will be exhibiting at stands D50, E32, E30 and E42, where visitors can explore a broad range of equipment and solutions for the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
Particular emphasis will be placed on new aquaculture solutions, including BioSeize, MarWall and MarDeep, as well as Flow Gear for bottom trawling. Visitors will also be able to learn more about Injector and Thyborøn trawl doors, along with a wide selection of operational supplies for fisheries, aquaculture and other food-processing activities.
The aquaculture activities of the Hampiðjan Group have been brought together under its subsidiary ELDI, which will have a strong presence at this year’s exhibition. BioSeize is a system designed to collect uneaten feed and organic side streams from fish farming and transport the material to the surface for further treatment and utilisation. The aim is both to reduce the accumulation of organic material beneath fish cages and to create value from material that would otherwise go to waste.
MarWall and MarDeep are two different solutions designed to improve conditions in fish farming. MarWall is a semi-closed cage solution that uses seawater drawn from deeper layers, helping, among other things, to reduce the risk of sea lice and improve water quality within the cage. MarDeep, by contrast, is based on submerging the fish cage below the surface layer, where conditions can be more stable and the effects of sea lice, weather and other surface-related conditions may be reduced.
In fishing gear, Flow Gear will be among the main highlights. The solution replaces conventional rockhopper sections on bottom trawls and is based on semi-circular elements designed to reduce resistance in the water and along the seabed. Flow Gear was first introduced at IceFish 2024 and has since undergone further testing and development, with the aim of improving performance and adapting the equipment even better to Icelandic conditions.
The exhibition will also provide an opportunity to learn more about Injector and Thyborøn trawl doors and to discuss different types and solutions with Hampiðjan specialists. A broad selection of operational supplies for fisheries, aquaculture and food processing will also be on display, including workwear and safety clothing, hygiene products and other products for day-to-day operations.
For many years, IceFish has been an important platform for Hampiðjan to present new developments, engage with customers and meet partners from the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. Staff from Hampiðjan and ELDI will welcome visitors at the exhibition and present products and solutions for a wide range of industry needs.
