Plenty of interest in Hampidjan gear at Danfish International

The Danfish International exhibition held in the Danish city of Aalborg attracted record attendance from the 9th to the 11th of October. Companies from more than twenty countries attended as exhibitors and visitors came from more than forty countries. Among those exhibiting were Hampidjan companies Cosmos Trawl, based in Hirtshals and Skagen, and Nordsø Trawl, based at Thyborøn.
Hampidjan’s sales and marketing manager Haraldur Árnason commented that he can’t be anything other than highly satisfied with the exhibition’s success and that there is clearly an upswing in fisheries in those countries that border the North Sea, the Kattegat and the Baltic.
He said that items such as Dynice Warps and Dynice Data sounder cable attracted particular interest. Dynice Warps are now in use on more than 90 vessels, ten are using Dynice Data and the interest is growing.
‘The new Helix ropes also attracted interest, as interest in self-spreading technology, which these ropes are based on, has been striking. Now around 80% of all the pelagic trawls we deliver as a group are made using these ropes,’ Haraldur Árnason said.
‘It was an excellent exhibition all round. Visitors came from all over the world, with many of our customers taking the time to visit Cosmos Trawl and Nordsø Trawl,’ he said, adding that although these companies work primarily with customers in Scandinavia, their products find their way all round the world.
Hampidjan also has activity on both east and west coasts of the USA and Canada, Lithuania, Russia and in New Zealand, as well as in Iceland, plus its ownership of Irish fishing gear supplier Swan Net Gundry.
